Portable charger, mobile charger, travel charger — are they the same thing?
Yes, they all describe the same product group. Terms such as portable charger, mobile charger, travel charger or portable charging unit are used interchangeably for these devices. Bemis's Mini Mobile, Mono Mobile and Pro Mobile 2 models belong to this group: you charge your electric car from an existing socket without a fixed installation or any electrical wiring work.
Does a portable charger work from a normal socket?
Yes. Our Bemis Mobile Charger products work with both a standard 16A single-phase socket and 32A industrial CEE sockets. Pro models deliver up to 22 kW from a three-phase 32A socket; Mini models are suited to household sockets at 2.3-3.7 kW.
What is the difference between Mini Mobile and Pro Mobile 2?
Mini Mobile: 2.3-3.7 kW single-phase, compact size, ideal for home and travel. Pro Mobile 2: 3.7-22 kW three-phase, for professional and fleet use. On the Pro Mobile 2 the charging current is set in six steps — 6/10/16/20/25/32 A — from the mobile app or the button on the unit, so charging can continue at a lower current on weak installations.
What happens if the mobile charger gets submerged in water?
The IP65 protection class is suitable for use in the rain, but the product must not be submerged. After the housing gets wet, wipe it with a dry cloth before plugging it in. In case of flooding, do not operate the unit before taking it to an authorised service centre.
Can it be used as a backup while travelling?
Yes, portable chargers are designed for exactly this purpose. In hotels, campsites, holiday resorts and other places without a DC/AC charging point, you charge from the existing sockets. It comes with a carrying bag and is stored and transported in it.
How do I choose between a mobile charger and a fixed wallbox?
If you park your vehicle in the same place every day, a fixed wallbox is faster, safer and more economical in the long run. If you travel frequently or move between several locations, a mobile charger is the more flexible solution. Having both is also a common choice.
