EV Charging Extensions & Adapters

Extend the charging cable or convert it to different plug types

Extension cables and Ceenorm converters that carry existing charging equipment to different outlet types and distances. Combination solutions designed for single and three-phase 16a – 32a transitions.

EV Charging Extensions & Adapters

What is used to extend a charging supply or convert the plug type?

Two product families cover this. Converter adapters connect different CEE plug and socket types to each other (for example a 1/16A plug to a 5/32A socket) and come with a 30 cm cable. Portable extension cables instead move the supply point 5 or 10 metres away. The cross-section is chosen by current: 2.5 mm² for 16A and 6 mm² for 32A. Protection is IP44, and IP68 on one model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a charging cable extension safe?

Our Bemis extension cables are manufactured to the same standards as the original cable (IEC 62196-2, 32A copper conductors). IP54-rated connection sections are protected against water. Low-quality third-party extensions can pose a fire risk; use only certified products.

When do I need to use an extension?

An extension is used when the vehicle is parked far from the wall where the wallbox is installed, when the car park entrance area is long, or when the load point is far away in mobile settings such as camping. If your standard 5 m cable is sufficient, an additional extension is unnecessary; every connection point is an additional point of vulnerability.

Can different connector types be made compatible with a converter?

Yes. We offer adapters for common conversions such as Type 1 to Type 2, CEE socket to Type 2, and Type 2 to Schuko. However, there is no conversion between DC and AC; each system works separately. Converters take the power limit of the lower-rated side.

What is the maximum length of an extension cable?

The total cable length (original + extension) should not exceed 15 metres for 22 kW single-phase or 25 metres for 11 kW three-phase. Over longer distances, power drops and heating increases due to cable resistance. For installations that require long distances, fixed wiring is recommended.

Which socket types are common in Türkiye?

For home charging, the Schuko (standard Turkish socket), the 16A industrial blue CEE socket and the 32A red three-phase CEE socket are common. At public AC points, Type 2 is the standard. In DC fast charging, CCS2 (the most common) and CHAdeMO (Nissan/older vehicles) are found.
